The success of the EBOT Exam is spreading throughout Europe, and even to the rest of the world. Every year, more and more applicants are encouraged to take this prestigious qualification exam, which is helping ever greater numbers of EBOT fellows to progress in their careers.

The EBOT Exam has evolved over the last few years to make it more open and fair, and this fact has been well received by all candidates. We are currently looking into how to provide parts of the exam in different languages, and for sure both the final and the interim exam will offer several choices in the years to come.

We want the EBOT Exam to address not only knowledge, but also skills, and we are looking at how to grade these areas of assessment in a final fellowship examination in the future. This will take us closer to the requirements of many of the European orthopaedic societies within the European Union. The EBOT Exam is a prestigious qualification that is a valuable addition to a CV.

Please apply now, as the time schedule and seats for the written exam are limited.

EBOT Interim Exam
3 April 2014

The European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) has started an annual assessment for all European orthopaedic trainees that went on trial in 2011. This event was a great success because EBOT was able, for the first time, to gather information at the European level, that was handed over to both trainees and heads of training regarding not only the performance of the different residents, but also detailed how they have been doing in the five different areas assessed at the final EBOT Exam – upper limb, lower limb, spine, children orthopaedics and basic sciences. For the first time, it was possible to get a glimpse of the spectrum of orthopaedic training in Europe at the appropriate time to be able to identify and correct any deficiencies that may exist.
