Atlas Spine Inc. announced the exclusive license of its True Position Pivoting Spacer system patents and transfer of assets associated with the technology to Spine Wave Inc.

According to a press release from Atlas Spine, the Center Pivot Point Technology of the True Position spacer allows surgeons to accurately position interbody spacers. The spacer system also can be used with minimally invasive techniques.

The agreement between the companies allows Atlas Spine to develop other products using the licensed technology, according to the release.

“This validates Atlas as an innovative, spinal device product development company. We are pleased and excited to work collaboratively with Spine Wave to develop the True Position product line to its full potential,” Matt Baynham, the chief technology officer of Atlas, said in the release.
