TranS1 names new vice president of research and development
TranS1 announced it has named Brandon Arthurs as the company’s vice president of research and development, according to a company press release.
In this new role, Arthurs will head collaborations between surgeons and entrepreneurs to bring innovations to market, such as those that will complement the company’s AxiaLIF+ system. According to the release, Arthurs brings nearly 2 decades of technical leadership and product development, and experience with securing medical patents.

Arthurs has previously worked for TranS1 as a director of research and development, engineering manager, and senior research and development engineer.
“It is TranS1’s mission to give surgeons the tools to develop and bring to market medical breakthroughs,” Jeff Schell, chief executive officer of TranS1, said in the release. “Brandon’s prior experience with the TranS1 brand and its products, coupled with his extensive relationships with surgeons, make him a huge asset.”
As vice president of research and development, Arthurs will manage a team of inventors, physicians, engineers, surgeons and patent attorneys, as well as work with TranS1’s surgeon advisory board, to lead physician-driven innovation and research and development efforts.
