VIDEO: A look at ultra lose dose CT scanning protocol for orthopedic injury

ORLANDO, Fla. — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Sanjit R. Konda, MD, discussed a study which evaluated the reduction protocol, an ultra lose dose CT scanning protocol for orthopedic injury.  Results showed the low dose CT scans were similar to conventional CT scans with regards to diagnosing periarticular fractures and imaging quality.  

He noted the reduction protocol had a 14% decrease in radiation vs. the conventional CT scans.
