VIDEO: A look at radiograph use for prediction of postoperative sagittal alignment in spinal deformity patients

ORLANDO, Fla. — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Themistocles S. Protopsaltis, MD, discussed a study which measured the reliability of lateral intraoperative radiographs in predicting postoperative standing sagittal alignment in patients with spinal deformity. He said orthopedic surgeons need to find the right range of alignment parameters appropriate for the patients’ age when correcting spinal deformity.
