Nexxt Spine LLC announced the launch of its DT Elite Guide System, which is aimed at reducing the number of operative steps for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion procedures.

According to a company press release, the system allows surgeons to simultaneously determine the appropriate interbody dimensions and prepare screw pilot holes for the anterior cervical plate. The guide system reportedly bridges the gap between the Struxxure Anterior Cervical Plate and Honour Cervical Interbody systems.

Nexxt Spine’s DT Elite System is manufactured to exact specifications using modern 3-D printing technology and is compatible with the Struxxure Anterior Cervical Plate and Honour Cervical Interbody systems, according to a company press release.

“The innovative Struxxure DT Elite Guides simplify the [anterior cervical discectomy and fusion] ACDF procedure and provide the framework for a shorter plate to be used which in turn increases the distance to the adjacent disc level wherein studies report a reduction in the risk of developing postoperative degenerative changes, including ALO,” Robert L. Wertz, MD, vice president of new product development, said in the release.
