OsteoMed Spine introduces full release of lateral lumbar interbody fusion system

OsteoMed Spine recently announced the full-market introduction of its PrimaLIF lateral lumbar interbody fusion system.

The system utilizes multiple dilators with neuromonitoring requirements for each insertion. The retractor slides its 7.5-mm initial diameter down over a guidewire and places the nerves of the lumbar plexus posterior throughout the case. The retractor is then opened to allow surgeons access to the disc space, according to a company press release.

A rigid ring is then placed at the distal end to maintain position for the surgeons. This reportedly allows surgeons to focus on the fusion, instead of the positioning and keeping the retractor in place. The new system also includes a full set of disc preparation instruments illuminations, neuromonitoring components and several implant options.
