Xtant Medical announced their subsidiary, Bacterin International, has received a U.S. patent for demineralized bone matrices derived from cortical bone. The patent will include Bacterin’s OsteoSTX, OsteoWrap and OrbitalWrap HD product lines.

The company has other domestic patents pending to cover aspects of their allograft processing and demineralization technologies, according to a company press release.

“This patent adds to the growing body of evidence substantiating the superior processing methodologies associated with Bacterin's allograft portfolio,” Gregory Juda, MD, chief scientific officer for Bacterin, stated in the release.
