LDR announces second quarter financial details

LDR Holding Corporation recently announced its second quarter revenue details, reporting total revenue of $41.5 million, an increase of 19.4% compared with $34.8 million in the second quarter of 2014, according to a company release.
The company pointed to the growth of the Mobi-C cervical disc for the 36.5% increase of cervical product sales in the second quarter. Cervical products increased 41.5% on a constant currency basis to $28.6 million, compared with $21 million in the second quarter of 2014.
Revenue from the sale of lumbar products increased by 2%, or 4.8% on a constant currency basis, to $9.6 million, compared with $9.4 million in the second quarter of 2014, according to the company.
United States revenue increased by 26.4% to $33.3 million in the second quarter of 2015, compared with $26.3 million in the second quarter of 2014. This represents 80.2% of total revenue. International revenues decreased by 2.3% to $8.2 million total, down from $8.4 million in the second quarter of 2014. However, on a constant current basis, international revenue increased by 22.6% in the second quarter of 2015.
Gross profit increased to $34.7 million and gross margin was 83.6%, compared with a gross profit $28.9 million and gross margin of 83.1% for the second quarter of 2014.
According to the company release, net loss increased this quarter to $5.8 million, or $0.22 per share, compared to a net loss of $2.3 million, or $0.09 per share, during the 2014 second quarter.
