LONG BEACH, Calif. — At the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Annual Meeting, Michael S. Pinzur, MD, spoke about results of a retrospective observational study of a large cohort of patients with diabetes who underwent elective foot and ankle surgery. The odds ratio for the development of postoperative complications within 30 days of surgery significantly increased in the patients with higher hemoglobin A1C levels. Watch video.
