Medtech receives marketing authorization in Australia for robotic surgery system

Medtech recently announced it has received official authorization to market its ROSA robot in Australia for minimally invasive surgical procedures on the brain, as well as for spine surgery.
The company also announced it has signed a contract for distribution in Australia and New Zealand with Surgicom, a company specializing in the distribution of medical devices, according to a company press release.
The agreement reinforces Medtech’s geographical coverage in the Asia-Pacific region through Surgicom’s various offices and commercial agents in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland, according to the release.
The ROSA robot is a technological device devoted to brain surgery procedures. ROSA has been approved in Europe, the United States and Canada, the release stated.
