Depuy Synthes announces four new products, new education solution
LAS VEGAS — DePuy Synthes Companies recently announced the addition of four new products to its adult deformity portfolio, in addition to a new education offering.
The products were displayed by DePuy Synthes Spine this week during the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, here, according to a company press release.
The new products include the Expedium Osteotomy System, which is used during spinal reconstruction; the Viper Cortical Fix X-Tabs, designed for enhanced fixation in percutaneous surgery; and the Synapse System, which uses 3.5-mm and 4-mm titanium alloy rods. Additionally, the Vivigen Cellular Bone Matrix is designed for use in the repair or reconstruction of musculoskeletal defects and for enhancements to the Synapse System of implants and instruments, enabling more surgical options during posterior stabilization of the upper spine, according to the release.
The company’s new education platform was developed to support the new products and includes tailored curriculums and a customized learning experience to address learners’ needs. The platform is led by experts in the field of adult education. Both orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons were brought together as part of an advisory board that assisted DePuy Synthes Spine in the creation of the adult deformity education program, the release stated.
