Amendia recently announced it has acquired the iO-Flex and iO-Tome product lines and technology rights from Baxano Surgical through a court-supervised auction process.

The iO-Flex system utilizes technology that allows surgeons to target lumbar spinal stenosis during spinal decompression procedures, resulting in accurate removal of impinging bone and soft tissue without nerve disruption. The iO-Tome technology removes bone, specifically the facet joints, and is designed to provide a clear working channel for disc preparation and interbody device placement, according to a company press release.

The new technology will complement Amendia’s portfolio of spinal devices, including the Zeus-O oblique lateral lumbar interbody fusion device, the release stated.
