DePuy Synthes recently announced it has acquired Olive Medical Corporation.

Through the acquisition of Olive, which specializes in high-definition imaging for both the OR and office settings, DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine will gain use of the imaging technology in its arthroscopy product line, according to a press release from DePuy.

DePuy’s VAPR radiofrequency systems and FMS fluid management and tissue debridement systems have specifically been touted by the company as beneficiaries of the acquisition.

The transaction will allow DePuy to utilize better arthroscopic visualization in patients with shoulder, knee, hip and small-joint maladies, in addition to enabling the company to simplify supplier networks for clinicians and medical service providers, according to the release.
Financial terms of the agreement between DePuy Synthes and Olive Medical were not immediately available.
