First surgeries completed in U.S. with MySpine patient-matched technology
Medacta USA recently announced the completion of the first successful surgeries in the United States utilizing MySpine Patient-Matched Technology.
MySpine provides customized guides for spinal surgeons to reference during deformity surgeries. The technology is designed to enhance health outcomes and increase accuracy related to pedicle entry points, screw trajectories and accuracies, and implant specifications, according to a company press release.
According to the company, the technology is the first available in the U.S. that provides surgeons with patient-specific guides for spine vertebrae using proprietary CT scan algorithms and 3-D medical printing technology.
MySpine received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration this past May.
Samuel S. Jorgenson, MD, and Richard Manos, MD, of the Spine Institute of Idaho, completed the first surgeries, according to the release.
