Zimmer Spine announced recently that its Virage OCT Spinal Fixation System is one of the 2014 winners of the Life Science Alley New Technology Showcase.

The system was selected as a showcase winner out of more than 50 applicants across the Minnesota medical, biotech and health IT sectors, according to a company press release. Intended for the occipital-cervical-thoracic spine, Virage features a variety of rods, anchors, transverse connectors, screws and polyaxial screws to achieve implant constructs as necessary for each case.

In addition to winning the award, Zimmer was selected to present at the keynote luncheon at the Life Science Alley Health Technology Leadership Conference, which was held on Nov. 19. The conference was focused on the policies, business practices and advancements reinventing health care, according to the release.
