Spine Wave adds Mashburn to executive management team

Spine Wave recently announced it has hired Laine Mashburn as executive vice president of global marketing and business development.

Earlier in his career, Mashburn served as product director for DePuy Motech and was one of the 12 original employees who helped to develop techniques such as transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and the world’s first polyaxial screw. He was later given roles of increasing responsibility within Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Spine business, including vice president sales – Americas, according to a press release from Spine Wave.

Most recently, Mashburn served as vice president of worldwide strategy and development for DePuy Synthes. Following the acquisition of Synthes, Mashburn left Johnson & Johnson to form his own health care-focused strategic and commercial services firm, Venturemedica, according to the release.
