Medacta opens new U.S. headquarters
Medacta International has announced the official opening of the company’s new domestic headquarters in Chicago.
The 20,000 square foot facility is expected to bring more than 50 jobs to the city, uniting the company’s domestic operations, product development, sales and marketing functions in an area known for having deep roots in medical technology, according to a joint press release from the company and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel.
Medacta chose to relocate its headquarters to Chicago from its previous location in Southern California to better support expansion into the U.S. orthopedics market, the release said.
“The city combines a deep technical talent pool with the opportunity to collaborate with some of the world’s best orthopedic researchers and practitioners at leading medical institutions,” Medacta USA president Eric Dremel, said in the release.
The company plans to introduce several new products later this year.
