BME expands availability of Speed Shift system

BioMedical Enterprises recently announced the nationwide availability of their Speed Shift Continuous Active Compression System.

The device is the world’s first superelastic Nitinol bone fixation device with an offset bridge to accommodate uneven bone surfaces, offering foot and ankle surgeons intraoperative choices for fixation of flatfoot and high arch conditions, according to a company press release. The new implant is also both fully disposable and presterilized.

“We saw great success with the game-changing technologies behind the Speed Continuous Active Compression System. The Speed Shift builds upon that foundation and gives surgeons more anatomically shaped implant options,” company president and CEO, Keith M. Peeples, said in the release.
