DePuy Synthes Power Tools announced the global launch of the Anspach EG1 High Speed Electric System at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
According to a company press release, the Anspach EG1 High Speed Electric System includes a high-speed drill with 30% percent more power than the Anspach XMAX and EMAX 2 Plus systems. The device is used to cut and shape bone, including the spine and cranium, and has a wide range of attachments, dissection tools and accessories for greater flexibility across procedures. The system has integrated air-cooling, an operating speed of up to 80,000 rpm, minimal start-up kick, and is compatible with automated washing and sterilization.
“We developed the Anspach EG1 System to provide power, precision, operational efficiency and ease of use across a variety of applications that require cutting and shaping bone,” Ed Mackey, worldwide president of DePuy Synthes Power Tools, stated in the release. “Our goal is to provide surgeons with tools that perform with precision so that they can achieve the best possible patient outcomes.”
