OrthoSensor and Zimmer have entered into a co-marketing partnership that will tie Orthosensor’s Verasense Knee System with Zimmer’s NexGen Knee.

“While we currently lead the industry in Patient Reported Outcomes with our NexGen Knee, we know that component placement and soft-tissue balancing are critical to patient satisfaction and implant longevity,” Jeff McCaulley, president of Zimmer Reconstructive, stated in a company press release. “Our collaboration with OrthoSensor, and the ability to leverage real data in soft tissue balancing with Verasense, should allow for even more satisfied patients.”

Jay Pierce, chief executive officer and president of OrthoSensor, added, “This agreement allows development of Verasense technology that will be used initially with the Zimmer NexGen system, allowing more surgeons to benefit from the data provided to them by Verasense. We welcome the Zimmer knee portfolio into the Verasense technology platform and look forward to working with Zimmer to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.”
