Mitek Sports Medicine adds two new ACL systems to their portfolio
Mitek Sports Medicine added the Rigidfix Curve Cross Pin System and the Rigidloop Cortical Fixation System to its anatomic ACL reconstruction portfolio.
The Rigidfix system uses the anteromedial (AM) approach and places two cross pins in the femoral tunnel. The pins provide fixation and minimize small movements that can cause tunnel widening. The Rigidfix system is available in the U.S., Europe, Middle East and Africa.
According to the press release, the Rigidloop System consists of a titanium button that comes pre-loaded with a suture loop and provides pull out strength. The button comes in 5-mm increments from 15-mm to 60-mm and extra-large for femoral tunnel diameters larger than 6-mm.
“Our portfolio of procedural solutions in orthopedic sports medicine continues to grow as we respond to the clinical needs of patients and health care professionals throughout the world,” Ian Lawson, worldwide president of Mitek Sports Medicine, stated in a company release. “Our two new ACL systems were designed to accommodate surgeons’ need for strong fixation, procedural simplicity, reproducibility and more anatomic reconstruction achieved through the AM portal technique.”
