Medtronic introduces sagittal adjusting screw
Medtronic Inc. announced the global market introduction of the CD Horizon Solera Spinal System Sagittal Adjusting Screw for the surgical correction of complex spinal pathologies.
According to a company press release, the Sagittal Adjusting Screw (SAS) features a fixed head made of cobalt chrome that contains a sliding saddle, giving vertebral body control with accommodation of rod seating and allowing surgeons the ability to position the SAS in the natural outward and inward curves of the spine.
“The Sagittal Adjusting Screw is another key element in enhancing the capability of our CD Horizon Solera pedicle fixation system,” Doug King, senior vice president of Medtronic and president of Medtronic Spinal, stated in the release. “It brings new innovation to the market and extends our industry-leading portfolio of spinal therapies.”
