In its 33 years of publication, Orthopedics Today has only had three Chief Medical Editors:

If you look back over his more than 10 years of Commentaries, the common theme is ‘we can do better and we must do better.’ To me, that is Doug. As a surgeon, as a teacher of fellows and as a leader in orthopedics, he has made things better. He has done the same for us, and not just for Orthopedics Today. He has made SLACK Incorporated better, he has made our staff better and he has made me better,” Carter said.
