DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction announced the worldwide availability of the Global Unite Platform Shoulder Arthroplasty System.

The modular system has 72 different sizing configurations and is indicated for press-fit or cemented fixation, according to a press release. The Global Unite system also offers a suture collar to help with anatomic reconstruction.

Additionally, this system offers modular proximal bodies in four sizes and three heights to promote anatomic restoration of humeral head height and tuberosity placement in a press-fit application, modular suture collar for suture fixation and anatomic reconstruction of tuberosities. Humeral heads are available in 40-mm to 56-mm sizes in both standard and eccentric configurations.

According to the release, the Global Unite system also has the option to convert to the Delta Xtend Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty System without the use of a stack on adaptor because it has similar stem geometry to Delta Xtend.
