Smith & Nephew has announced the launch of the Trigen Low-Profile Screw, which has internal threads that securely attach the screws to the screwdriver.

According to a company press release, the new screws, which are available in 2.5-mm increments, feature a fluted design to help surgeons feel when the screw is fully seated. The screw is designed for use with the entire Trigen System, as well as the Trigen Sureshot Distal Targeting System.

“We have virtually reinvented the low-profile screw,” Gaurav Agarwal, divisional senior vice president and general manager for Smith & Nephew’s Advanced Surgical Devices Division, stated in the release. “Within this one screw, our commitment to improving surgical outcomes for both patient and surgeons is on full display.”
