Stryker Corporation’s Orthopaedics Division announced the findings of the National Joint Registry of England and Wales, which reported that its Triathlon Knee System outperformed all competitive knee implants in terms of revision rates.

“The National Joint Registry of England and Wales is a well known joint registry,” Patrick Treacy, vice president & general manager for Knee Reconstruction, Stryker Orthopaedics, stated in a press release. “We are very pleased with the data reported for the Triathlon Knee System.”

The 2010 National Joint Registry of England and Wales data reported that the Triathlon Knee System showed the lowest rate of revision at three years when compared with those of other frequently used knee systems. The system also demonstrated the lowest three year revision rate in 2009.

The implant system features a single-radius design to promote stability and address issues that potentially cause wear. When combined with Stryker’s patented X3 Advanced Bearing Technology, Triathlon has the lowest wear rate when compared to other advanced bearing offerings in laboratory testing.
