Stryker increases board of directors

Stryker Corporation announced an increase in the size of its board of directors to nine and the election of Roch Doliveux, PhD, as a director.

Doliveux has served since 2005 as chief executive officer and chairman of the executive committee of UCB S.A., a global biopharmaceutical company, according to a Stryker press release. He previously served as chief executive officer of Pierre Fabre Pharmaceuticals and president, of Schering-Plough International, a subsidiary of Schering-Plough Corporation.

Doliveux holds a master's degree in business from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and a PhD. in veterinary medicine from Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d'Alfort, Maisons-Alfort, France.

Stephen P. MacMillan, Stryker’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, stated in the release, “Roch brings an outstanding combination of talents and experiences as a globally minded health care executive with a strong focus on patients and innovation."
