Pioneer announces successful implantation of new interbody spacer
Pioneer Surgical Technology Inc. announced its new interbody spacer has been successfully implanted in a European patient.
The nanOss Cervical cage, according to a company press release, is machined from nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite and designed for use in the cervical spine for the treatment of cervical disc disease.
The surgeries were performed at hospitals in the United Kingdom, and are the first expansion of Pioneer’s biologics products into Europe.
“We are very pleased to expand our interbody product offerings into Europe with nanOss Cervical and to utilize the alliance with our sales, technical and support team in Europe,” Shane Ray, general manager of biologics for Pioneer, stated in the release. “This novel product is the first of its kind composed of hydroxyapatite to provide strength as a cervical spacer. We look forward to expanded sales of nanOss Cervical throughout key markets within and outside Europe.”
