Medtronic recognized for excellence in corporate citizenship

Medtronic, Inc. was named to the 12th annual “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list published by Corporate Responsibility magazine. Ranking 66th, Medtronic moved up 11 spots from its 2010 position.

Rankings are based on more than 360 data points that align with five social responsibility elements including, environment, human rights, employee relations, philanthropy, and financial and corporate governance.

“We are very pleased with the ongoing recognition of our citizenship efforts,” Bill Hawkins, Medtronic chair and CEO, stated in a company press release announcing the recognition. “Operating as a good corporate citizen has been part of Medtronic’s mission from the very beginning, as we employ many of the company assets to maximize social value. Our upward movement on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List acknowledges our continued progress.”
