K2M, Inc. announced in a press release that its RAVINE Lateral Access System and ALEUTIAN Lateral Interbody System received CE Mark clearance.

RAVINE provides a dual flat blade platform for a true muscle-splitting transpsoas approach. The system offers rigid fixation to the spine and an option for both a third and fourth blade, the company noted.

The ALEUTIAN Lateral System is comprised of anatomically designed interbody implants made of PEEK material that are used in conjunction with the RAVINE Retractor. The implants feature radiolucent properties, which have the potential to increase visualization of bone graft while aiding in accurate fusion assessment. The bulleted nose allows for ease of insertion and the circumferential rings provide 360· of grip to the endplates, K2M said.
