NEI funding supports trial of virtual reality glaucoma detection device
SAN FRANCISCO — A clinical study of NGoggle, a virtual reality device that aims to detect glaucoma, will begin at Duke University, according to a press release from the National Eye Institute, which is funding the investigation.
Long-term effects of anti-VEGF injection on IOP uncertain
A literature search found a strong correlation between intravitreal injection and immediate IOP elevation, while the association with long-term IOP rise and glaucoma is less certain.

Study investigates IOP changes related to femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery
In eyes with glaucoma, as well as in healthy eyes, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery leads to an initial IOP rise, followed by significant decrease at 1 month. Reduction is sustained in eyes with glaucoma over 3 years, according to a study.
Patients with unreadable fundus image at higher risk of ocular pathology
A majority of patients called in for confirmatory eye exams due to unreadable fundus images taken during their initial exams were found to have glaucoma, according to a study published in Journal of Glaucoma.
