Eye wear manufacturer Luxottica closed 2013 with a new net sales record of more than 7.3 billion Euros, according to a company press release.

Sauflon to bring silicone hydrogel daily disposables to US
Silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses will now be sold in the U.S., according a press release. Sauflon, a British company and global manufacturer of contact lenses and aftercare solutions, announced Monday that it is entering the U.S. market with its Clariti 1 Day contact lenses. The disposable contact lenses are currently sold in the U.K.
Study finds brief breaks improve total wearing time of scleral lenses
Patients wearing scleral contact lenses who took short breaks every 4 to 5 hours of wearing time had a significantly higher success rate among all diagnosis groups evaluated, according to Ortenberg and colleagues in a study published in Eye & Contact Lens.
Study identifies numerous factors affecting contact lens comfort
Researchers found that excessive lens movement, inferior lens decentration, poor surface wettability and deposits, inferior corneal staining and Asian ethnicity were associated with discomfort and dryness in silicone hydrogel wearers.
