VIDEO: ‘AI is here’ in eye care, from practice management to contact lens care
ORLANDO — In this Healio Video Perspective from Vision Expo East, David Kading, OD, FAAO, discusses the current and future applications of AI in eye care, particularly contact lenses.
Kading, CEO of Specialty Eye in Washington state, addresses the fear that AI will replace eye care professionals.
“The reality is that we’ve been utilizing artificial intelligence in our practices and in our everyday lives for years and years,” Kading said, citing the use of OCT as an example.
“AI is here, and it’s only going to blow up,” he added.
In addition to discussing how AI can help now with practice management and patient communications, Kading talks about potential applications of AI in contact lens care to improve individual patient outcomes.
