EssilorLuxottica acquires Espansione Group, expands vision care technology portfolio
EssilorLuxottica announced the acquisition of Espansione Group, an Italian company that specializes in the design and manufacturing of noninvasive medical devices for eye care, according to a press release.
“This investment, proudly made in one of our home countries, will expand our portfolio of medical devices and solidify our role in the optical industry,” Francesco Milleri, EssilorLuxottica’s chairman and CEO, said in the release. “EssilorLuxottica’s med-tech journey, aimed at elevating vision health standards, will continue to be an open and collaborative one, where our products and services are accessible to all industry players.”
Espansione Group’s photobiomodulation technology, for use in eye care as well as dermatology, along with its intense pulsed light technology, are expected to strengthen EssilorLuxottica’s portfolio of vision care instruments, the release stated.
