INDIANAPOLIS — In this Healio video, Kaleb Abbott, OD, MS, FAAO, assistant professor at University of Colorado School of Medicine, discusses three things optometrists should know about Vevye for dry eye.

“The first is improved bioavailability,” Abbott said, explaining that the product’s vehicle, perfluorobutylpentane, improves delivery through the tear film.

Vevye (cyclosporine ophthalmic solution 0.1%; Harrow) also has rapid onset of action and minimal side effects, he noted.

“In fact, 99.8% of patients in the clinical trials either had none or only mild ... pain when they were instilling the drop,” Abbott said.
