Myopia Profile has announced the launch of Myopia Action Month, a global initiative to unite eye care professionals and combat childhood myopia through free online seminars, lectures by industry experts and educational resources.
“The successful launch of Myopia Action Month became a reality thanks to the exceptional support and enthusiasm of the [eye care professionals (ECP)] community and our visionary sponsors throughout its conception and development,” Kate Gifford, PhD, co-founder and director of Myopia Profile, said in an organization press release. “Building the program’s curriculum was truly a collaborative effort, with the singular focus of empowering ECPs to turn myopia awareness into action.”
Myopia Profile solicited feedback from ECPs via its “Have Your Say” online survey and created a program that includes four weekly seminars, available live and on-demand, and a 1-hour course offered throughout September. Both feature the latest in myopia research and evidence-based treatments.
Sponsors of the event include CooperVision, EssilorLuxottica, Johnson & Johnson Vision and SightGlass Vision, among others.
“The resources developed by both Myopia Profile and our sponsors have cumulated in a robust program that will hold immense benefits for ECPs seeking to enhance their knowledge of myopia management,” Gifford said in the release.
