WASHINGTON — CooperVision’s MiSight daily disposable soft contact lenses had a therapeutic effect after stopping, then restarting lens wear in children whose myopia was progressing, according to Felicia Timmermann, OD, MS, FAAO.
In this Healio video at Optometry’s Meeting, Timmermann shared study results presented at the recent British Contact Lens Association meeting involving children who stopped lens wear after 6 years, continued to progress, then restarted the lens.
“We were able to still slow progression just as we found in those first 6 years of use,” Timmermann, who works in myopia management at CooperVision, said.
Another study showed that children with myopia as high as –9.25 D, above the –7.00 D FDA indication range, still saw a therapeutic benefit with the MiSight lens.
