VIDEO: Academy’s annual diabetes update provides invaluable information for optometrists

In this Healio video interview, Anthony DeWilde OD, FAAO, director of the tele-eye imaging program at VA Kansas City Health Care, discusses a diabetes update presented by two optometry experts at Academy.
“I think they’ve been doing this talk at Academy for the last 13 or 15 years, and I’ve gone to it several times,” DeWilde said. “Every year I’m waiting for the time that they repeat themselves and it’s not interesting, but it’s interesting every single time.”
According to DeWilde, highlights of the presentation included a discussion on new modalities for systemically treating patients with diabetes and the importance of “time in range” when evaluating blood glucose.
