Johnson & Johnson Vision introduced Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day, new daily disposable premium contact lenses available in spherical and multifocal designs.

“Our lives have changed dramatically since 2020, and the result of that is most patients are spending a tremendous amount of time on digital devices – more than 13 hours a day,” Kurt Moody, OD, FAAO, director of North America professional education at J&J, told Healio.

As a result, patients are blinking 60% less, he said, leading to dryness and discomfort.

Two new technologies, TearStable and OptiBlue, were introduced in the Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day lenses, and the multifocal lenses feature the established Pupil Optimized Design.

According to Moody, patients say the lenses are comfortable and provide good vision, and doctors are saying the multifocal lens is quick and easy to fit.

The company stated in a press release that the Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day lenses received FDA clearance and Health Canada approval and the company completed CE Mark activities earlier this year.
