NEW ORLEANS – A study involving 37 patients with keratoectasia and pachymetry less than 400 microns showed that these patients could safely undergo corneal cross-linking, with positive outcomes, Mitch Ibach, OD, said here at SECO.

“In epithelium-off corneal cross-linking, we can use a hypotonic riboflavin that swells the cornea, so the concern is intraoperative corneal pachymetry and not preoperative,” he said.
