Akorn releases amniotic membrane for ocular surface repair
Akorn Eye Care has acquired the exclusive distribution rights for AcellFX, a new product from Blythe Medicine that can help repair the ocular surface naturally.
AcellFX is an acellular amniotic membrane that can be used to protect the cornea and conjunctiva as it heals from conditions including keratitis, trauma or corneal ulcers, Akorn said in a press release.
This amniotic membrane can be used for multiple application techniques, is available for immediate use without the need for thawing or rinsing beforehand, remains stable at room temperature for up to 5 years and offered greater comfort due to its smaller size, Akorn said in the release.
