BOSTON – Vuity, the first eye drop approved for treating presbyopia, showed significant improvement in acuity at intermediate distance at all hours tested through a 10-hour day, according to Chris Lievens, OD, MS, FNAP, FAAO.

The pilocarpine HCl ophthalmic solution 1.25% drop from Allergan, an Abbvie company, provides “a new-found way for patients to demonstrate acuity improvement at the distance at which we operate much of our working day,” Lievens said here at the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting. “This is truly exciting for a drug that was very well tolerated, with very few adverse events.”
