CooperVision announced at Vision Expo West that it is now accepting applications for its 2022 Best Practices Program.

The program honors optometric practices that deliver exceptional patient care and advance the profession and brings them together to share their insights with their peers, the company said in a press release.

As the initiative embarks on its seventh year, CooperVision said it is now recognizing honorees in five categories: industry advancement, community impact, patient experience, specialty services and team building.

“Best Practices is a testament to the fact that no matter who you are or where you’re located, you can offer patients an excellent eye care experience, and in your own way,” Michele Andrews, OD, CooperVision vice president, professional and government affairs, said in the release. “We look forward to learning how more of today’s practices are finding success despite the enormous challenges of the last 2 years, then giving them the platform to share that with others.”

All U.S. independent and corporate optometry practices that fit contact lenses are eligible to apply; the deadline is Nov. 30.

Best Practices honorees are brought together at the annual Best Practices Summit, where they can collaborate on practice management and clinical practice topics, according to the release. In 2020, CooperVision introduced a complementary Best Practices scholarship program, which provides third-year optometry students with the opportunity to attend the educational summit. Students will be able to apply later this year.
