Bausch + Lomb announced the launch of Biotrue Hydration Boost Lubricant Eye Drops and Biotrue Micellar Eyelid Cleansing Wipes, which are designed to alleviate dry eye symptoms and eyelid buildup.
“One of the major culprits of dry eyes, which is one of the most common eye issues in the U.S., is our increasing usage of digital devices,” Joe Gordon, U.S. president of Bausch + Lomb, said in a press release from the company. “We developed Biotrue Hydration Boost Lubricant Eye Drops and Biotrue Micellar Eyelid Cleansing Wipes to provide instant moisture to help relieve dry, digital-device-weary eyes.”
The pH-balanced, preservative-free eye drops contain electrolytes, hyaluronan and antioxidants that mimic natural, healthy tears and can be used with contact lens wear, the company said in the release. The cleansing wipes contain additional supplements such as aloe to help hydrate the eyelid area for additional relief.
“The availability of Biotrue Hydration Boost Lubricant Eye Drops and Biotrue Micellar Eyelid Cleansing Wipes offers two convenient, over-the-counter options that I look forward to offering my patients to help relieve the symptoms of their dry, digitally irritated eyes,” Jennifer Tsai, OD, founder, Line of Sight, New York, said in the release.
