Newsweek names PCON contributors among best eye doctors
Newsweek’s compilation of America’s Best Eye Doctors, released July 26, included a number of Primary Care Optometry News/Healio Editorial Board members.
Nancy Cooper, Newsweek global editor in chief, said the media outlet partnered with Statista, a global data research firm, to look at the 20 most populous states in the U.S. to find the best eye doctors in the country.
“Taking care of your eyes is important and finding the right doctors can make a big difference,” Cooper said in the introduction to the report.
The firm surveyed more than 10,000 ophthalmologists, optometrists, clinic managers and other health care professionals to find the doctors who had earned the most respect from their peers in three categories: quality of care, continuity of care and quality of the technology in their practices.
The top-ranked optometrists are:

- Viola Kanevsky, OD
- Alan Glazier, OD
- Joseph W. Sowka, OD
- Thomas P. Arnold, OD
- Oliver K. Lou, OD
- Anne Mika Moy, OD
- Nyok Alan Lee, OD
- Shannon L. Steinhauser, OD
- Marc R. Bloomenstein, OD
