VIDEO: Optometrists play vital role in AMD care
At Vision Expo East, Jeffry Gerson, OD, FAAO, presented a course on the importance that optometrists play in the prevention, diagnosis and care of age-related macular degeneration.
“The most important thing for our patients with macular degeneration is early diagnosis, because early diagnosis allows us to implement treatment strategies sooner and allows us to educate our patients,” Gerson said.
