Razer, a lifestyle brand for gamers, announced it has entered the eye wear and wearable technology industry with a new product geared toward remote working.

Razer Anzu Smart Glasses have blue light protection for eye strain, touch controls, open-ear Bluetooth audio and water resistance, the company said in a press release. The glasses also come with 99% UVA/UVB protected replacement lenses for outdoor use.

“With Anzu, Razer is entering the market at a time when there is a surge of people working from home — where eye protection, hands-free communication and smart features are now in high demand,” John Moore, head of sales and marketing at Razer, said in the release.

The glasses are ergonomically designed and lightweight at 48 g. Its technological capabilities involve a microphone and speakers built into the frame for hands-free talking and a battery time lasting 5 hours per charge through a USB cable. Anzu’s touch controls operate music, calls, a gaming mode and a smartphone virtual assistant. The smart glasses are compatible with Android and iOS devices.

Opening and closing the temples signals the glasses to turn on and off for battery conservation. The standard lens can be replaced with prescription lenses.

The glasses are available for purchase at Best Buy and Razor’s website and come in different sizes and styles.
