ABB Optical Group now offers new products and resources to help eye care professionals treat dry eye patients.

“It is no secret that dry eye disease is a common condition in the U.S., but it is also a treatable one,” ABB senior vice president of manufacturer partnerships Aaron See, said in a press release from the company. “Our goal of introducing a dry eye category of resources, services and products to eye care professionals (ECPs) is not just to provide products; we’re providing education, assistance and guidance to ECPs so that they can successfully treat their dry eye patients and help them carve out a dry eye specialty for their practice, leading to overall increased revenue, patient satisfaction and retention.”

The announcement comes as more patients are affected by dry eye disease. A 2019 study by the American Academy of Ophthalmology estimates about 16 million Americans live with dry eye.

ABB Optical Group will partner with industry experts to develop the resources and products and bring on additional staff to work with doctors, the company said in the release.

ABB has begun introducing some of its dry eye products: Regener-Eyes Lite, a sterile, biologic eye drop; VibrantVue Lid and Lash Care, a hypochlorous solution; and Eyeleve, an eye compress by Bruder.
