ORLANDO, Fla. – Visual processing speeds and oculomotor skills are critical to baseball players’ at-plate performance, according to a poster presented here at the American Academy of Optometry meeting.

Fred Edmunds, OD, FAAO, said he used diagnostic technology from RightEye and Senaptec to develop visual profiles for a professional baseball club, and that information helps with club scouting and identifying where to focus efforts in terms of training, efficiency and effectivity.

Disclosure: Edmunds reported no relevant financial disclosures.
